Barbara S. Robinson, 78, passed peacefully on July 31, 2021, and is at rest in the arms of Jesus. She passed at her Assisted “Loving” Facility Savannah Court in Orange City, FL after a brief illness. Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Lankford Funeral Home, DeLand, Florida.

Ms. Robinson was raised in Baltimore, Maryland with her twin sister, and her two older twin Sisters. She joined the Army in 1960. After her Honorable Discharge, she married and moved to Central Florida with her former husband, Richard D. Robinson settling in Orange City in 1972, where they raised two children, Lorrie Partridge (Robinson) and Richard Dale Robinson.

Ms. Robinson retired from Lyman High School, Longwood, FL and Hagerty High School, Oviedo, FL with more than 37 years of loyalty to her beloved schools.

During Ms. Robinson’s tenure at Lyman High School, she became an integral part of the JROTC program since inception, in August of 1993. She volunteered more than 1000 personal hours annually as a Dividend to the JROTC programs at Lyman High School, Winter Springs High School, and Hagerty High School. Her volunteer time was spent working with the students to prepare them for JROTC Competitions and accompanied the students to the JROTC Competitions across the state. She regularly donated two weeks of her personal vacation time each summer to accompany students to the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge at Camp Blanding in north Florida. She lived in the same billets, shared the same meals, and participated in the same physical activities with student, counseling and mentoring them in life, military, and educational challenges. In the year 2000 she was the Runner-up for the State of Florida Dividend Volunteer of the Year. In the year 2002 she was the Seminole County School District Employee of the Year. She was loved and admired by a great many of her JROTC students and the faculty and staff at the Seminole County High Schools.

Senior Army Instructor at Lyman High School, Lieutenant Colonel, John R. Bennett, US Army Retired, stated it best in his nomination letter on behalf of JROTC Major Robinson for the 2002 Seminole County School District Employee of the Year….

“ Barbara Robinson demonstrates the values of loyalty, duty, respect, selflessness, honor, integrity, and personal courage……She has never said “no” to a student, teacher, or administrator anywhere. She doesn’t know the meaning of the word failure when it comes to young people. She tirelessly gives of her time, money, and emotions to ensure every child she contacts will succeed in life. An asset like this is an intangible resource Lyman High School nor Seminole County can ever amply articulate or fully reward.”

Ms. Robinson deeply loved and was wonderfully devoted to her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her sisters, her nieces and nephews, her dear friends, and her little French Bulldog, Brinney - the ever-faithful companion, by her side, for the past 12 years and when she took her last breath.

She is survived and forever loved by her daughter, Lorrie Partridge (Robinson) Florida; son, Richard Dale Robinson, Georgia; son-in-law Pat Partridge, Florida; granddaughter Sissy Beery (Daugharty) Florida; grandson Matthew Robinson, Georgia; great granddaughter Rainey Beery, Florida; great grandson Gunner Beery, Florida; twin sister, Betty Lamb Maryland; sister, Jeanne Bonneville, brother-in-law Tom Bonneville, Maryland; former husband Richard D. Robinson, Florida; former sister-in-law Norma Robinson, Pennsylvania, Shirley Stake, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
