Barbara B Kim

Barbara B. Kim, age 91, of Edgewater, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025. Born on June 23, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Nancy Bruckman.

A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, Barbara dedicated her career to education, teaching physical education in Penn Hills, PA, before transitioning to a fulfilling role at the Penn Hills Library. Her passion for learning and community service was a hallmark of her life.

Barbara was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna and an active participant in the Hidden Lakes Ladies Golf Association. She was also a proud member of the Alpha X Delta Fraternity, where she developed lifelong friendships and a deep sense of sisterhood.

Her dedication to service extended beyond her professional and social affiliations. Barbara served as past president of the Pittsburgh City PanHellenic Association, the Pittsburgh Alpha X Delta Alumni Association, and the Rosedale Community Club. She also held the role of treasurer for the East Suburban Health Center Auxiliary, exemplifying her commitment to her community.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Robert (Mary Joan) Kim and David (MaryEllen) Kim; her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan Kim, Krista Kim, David Kim, Balin (Steven Fink) Kim, and Leo Kim; and her great-grandchildren, Arlo Fink and Wallace Fink. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.

A service for Barb will be held at Hacienda Del Rio's Club Lago at 1pm on March 1st. (287 Club Rio Drive, Edgewater, Florida 32141). There will also be a service on June 28th at the Ridgeview church in Derry, PA. "
