Barbara J. Foley, 73 passed away January 5th, 2022 peacefully in her home. Her funeral service will be held at Lankford Funeral Home. Visitation is Monday the 17th, from 4-6 pm, and burial is Tuesday at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 12:30 pm.


Barbara was born April 25th, 1948 in Adrian Michigan to Richard and Lois (Stites) Piotter. She graduated from Blissfield High School in 1966, and then came to Florida, found a job and settled here in Deland. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi of Omicrox Alpha of Deland. She worked at retail stores and for the last 30 years worked at the Volusia County Court Systems.

She married the love of her life James Lee Foley of De Leon Springs, on May 19th of 1973. They had two sons Scott (Heather) Foley, Timothy (Kristina) Foley and one granddaughter Jullian and granddog TY.


Barbara loved to garden and her passion was bowling. Barbara helped with the youth bowling program for over 25 years. She bowled twice a week and enjoyed bowling with her son Tim every Tuesday. She has gone to over 35 years of women’s National Bowling Tournaments throughout the United States. Barbara loved to travel and go on vacations with her family or to see her family.


Barb was a very loving, caring and giving person and loved by all who ever met her. She is survived

by her sons, sisters Beverly (Ellis) Monhollen of Toledo, Ohio, Batrice (Charles) Burrow of Adrian, Michigan, Diana Dixon (Todd Clark) of Blissfield, Michigan and brother William (Linda) Piotter of Vero Beach, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and younger brother John Piotter.
