Anthony Louis Pirollo passed away peacefully under hospice care on July 15, 2024, in Orange City. Anthony, better known as Tony to his friends and family, was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 28, 1946, and was the eldest son to Carmen and Myrtle ‘Utter’ Pirollo. The Pirollo family moved to Orlando in the early 1960s where Carmen worked for Lockheed Martin.
Tony attended Florida Military School in DeLand back in the early 1960's. He met his future bride (Jacqueline ‘Tuma’ Pirollo) at a St Peter’s Catholic School dance. He was 15. She was 14. They dated briefly. And then reconnected later when they were in their early 20's. They were married on June 30, 1967.
In 1970, they moved to California with a new baby. Not knowing anyone and having very little support, they followed their dreams and headed West. He was a commercial fisherman back then, fishing for Sea Urchins. He also was a mechanic in the fishing off season.
Tony and Jackie moved back to the Deland/Deltona area in 1981 to be near family.
Over the years Tony enjoyed his toys! He's had them all. From Motorcycles, Go-Carts, Dirt-bikes, Airplanes, and many many Boats.
He could fix anything. He just knew how things worked. He was always willing to help a friend or neighbor troubleshoot or figure out what's wrong.
In the early 2000s, Tony became an independent owner/truck driver. His wife Jackie joined him on the road and together they traveled the Country prior to retiring.
Tony was survived by his spouse of 57 years, Jackie Pirollo. His daughter Deborah Pirollo, son William Pirollo and his wife Sarah, four grandchildren Kyle Ingram, Nathan Hewson, Jarred Hewson, and McKenna Pirollo.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carmen Pirollo and Myrtle ‘Utter’ Pirollo, brother William James Pirollo.
Tony suffered from Parkinson Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Tony’s memory to any Dementia or Parkinson’s research charity.
