Anna DaRosa Paiva took her first breath on December 15, 1927, and her last breath on September 06, 2021, and both of those breaths are a miracle. The biggest miracle is what happens in-between those two breaths of 93 years. Anna is a wonderful combination of truly being a child of God. With a childlike playful, joyous, cheerful, compassionate nature, and at the same time, deeply faithful in the fullness of piety, study, and action. Her piety was daily mass … and daily rosary. Her study included numerous spiritual books. Her action was service to others; Family, Our Lord, and Community .

Anna's Husband of 65 years, Charles Paiva, who preceded her.

Anna's four sons and daughter; Richard Paiva (Aida Tatum), Raymond Paiva (Beth), Russell Paiva, Ralph Paiva (Zoe), Roberta Paiva Yarborough (deceased) (Jerry).

Anna’s nine Grandchildren Charles Paiva (Heather), Courtnay Brumbeck (Ryan), Jason Paiva (Natalie), Mary Kennedy (Neil), Julie Turgeon, Colby Paiva (Toni), Ryan Paiva (Hala), Kelly Paiva, Sarah Bourne (Ashley).

Serving the community:

Volunteer at the Village Store for the Junior Service League of DeLand

Volunteer at the women’s breast center at West Volusia Memorial Hospital

Volunteer school teacher at St. Peter Catholic School

Volunteer Juvenile Justice arbitrator- helping youth to not enter the prison system

Helping her grandson become a city commissioner

Her friends & neighbors; Anna is the lady that can make a friend in 3 minutes, and have them for a lifetime.

My 90-year-old father once told me one of the greatest gifts that he ever received was knowing that his mother passed peacefully. Surrounded by family members, Anna did just that. Her family will be forever grateful too. On September 6th there was only one picture in her room, that of her wedding day. Holding her hand, I glanced at that picture, and looking at my father, it seemed, he was smiling at me. The thought came over me, could it be possible that she would pass on the day of her 73rd wedding anniversary? That my father & mother would be reunited on their anniversary? My father was smiling; and yes, they were!
