Obituary of Barbara Heneghan
~~Barbara Dorothy Heneghan passed away in her home on November 12, 2017. Barbara was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and the middle child of Mary Bombero Chacho and Albert Chacho. She graduated from Saint Vincent’s School of Nursing in Connecticut and enlisted into the Air Force to serve during World War II. She met William F. Heneghan and they married April 28, 1951. They moved to DeBary, Florida in 1959 with their son, William Jr. and opened the 3B’s Freezette in 1960. In 1963 the 4th “B” was born, Robert Heneghan who still manages the family owned restaurant known as the 4B’s today. Barbara Heneghan had a very strong belief and followed her Catholic faith. She is a lifetime member of Veterans of World War II, the American Legion DeBary, Florida, and the Veterans of Foreign wars. While serving in the Air Force she obtained the rank of Captain of Nurses. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Chacho and Mary Bombero Chacho, brother, Albert Chacho, Jr., sister, Anne R Lucas , husband, William F. Heneghan, son, William F. Heneghan, Jr., infant daughter, Barbara Lee Heneghan, and daughter in law, Jennifer Heneghan. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Robert Heneghan, daughter in law, June Heneghan, grandchildren – William F. Heneghan, III, Jeffrey Heneghan, Patrick Heneghan, Colin Heneghan, 4 great grandchildren and her neice, Joanna L Moyer (Mark).
Mass will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at All Souls Historic Chapel, 800 South Oak Street in Sanford, FL.
The family will greet friends from 10:00am to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions are to be made to All Souls Catholic School in her memory. Burial will take place at a later date. Please visit www.lankfordfuneralhome.com to leave a memory for her family.
