Obituary of William Keebler
~~William C. Keebler, 84, of DeLand, FL passed away peacefully on September 5, 2017 at Florida Hospital - DeLand with family at his side. “Bill” was born in DeLand, FL and graduated from the University of Florida in 1954. After spending two years as an officer in the US Air Force at Cape Canaveral, he returned to Volusia County and embarked on a life-long career in agriculture as a citrus grower, cattle rancher and foliage grower. He served on the board of Florida Citrus Mutual and was a founding member of FernTrust, a cut foliage marketing cooperative. As a board member of the Bert Fish Foundation since 1975, Bill dedicated over 40 years of service to improving health care for residents of Volusia County.
Bill was best known for his quick wit, kind heart and dedication to his family. He is survived by his wife, Janine; son, Father William C. Keebler, Jr.; daughters Karen Keebler Dellecker and Kim Keebler-McKillop; three grand-children, William “Brett” Dellecker, William “Tucker” McKillop and Michael “Cooper” McKillop. A memorial service is scheduled for September 29, 2017 at 1:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of DeLand.
