Sally Louise Scully of Orange City, FL passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years, Dennis J. Scully; by her daughter, Julie Reynolds King and her husband Robert, of Houston, TX; by her son Robert Louis Reynolds and his wife Renee, of Prospect, KY; and by grandchildren Jeffrey Louis Reynolds and his wife Taylor, of Colorado Springs, CO; Kristen Reynolds Eisenreich and her husband Adam, of Manheim, PA; William Reynolds King of Denver, CO; and Peter Bagley King of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her stepchildren, James Scully, Roger Scully, Robin Scully Warren, and Kevin Scully.
Sally Childe was born in Detroit, MI in 1929. She was an elementary school teacher in Birmingham, MI for 33 years. Prior to becoming a teacher, Sally was a stewardess for American Airlines in Fort Worth, TX.
Sally was a graduate of Hillsdale College where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and also received a Master’s in Education from Michigan State University. She was a member of St. Jude’s Episcopal Church in Orange City, and a six year resident and active volunteer at John Knox Village where she leaves behind many dear friends.
Sally was predeceased by her parents, J. Willard Childe and Kathryn Behringer Childe, and by her brother John W. Childe.
A memorial celebration of Sally’s life will be held on Sunday March 25, 2018 at 2pm at the Barker Center at John Knox Village. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Hillsdale College Scholarship Fund, 33 E. College Street, Hillsdale, MI 49242, or to or Halifax Health-Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
