Margarett Ragsdale Miller died peacefully at home on December 10, 2017. Born May 25, 1922 she lived in Deland for 62 of her 95 years.
Margarett was born in Atlanta, GA and grew up in Tampa FL where she graduated from Hillsborough High School. She met her husband of 72 years, David W Miller, while she was the assistant office manager at Borden’s and he was the auditor. They moved to DeLand in 1955 with their one year old daughter Anne. Margarett, always the consummate organizer, worked with her husband as office manager in his CPA firm until their retirement.
Margarett loved to read, play bridge, fish and travel all over the world. She was always the cheerleader for her husband and daughter in all their endeavors whether sewing costumes, coaching lines for theater productions or just being the best fan club ever.
She was the oldest of five children all of whom have predeceased her. They were a close family who had wonderful times together. She blessed the life of her only granddaughter Jennifer Weeks by being a shining example of how to live life. David, Anne and Bob Sollien and Jennifer will miss her greatly.
Her’s was a life well lived who touched so many people in both work and friendship. She didn’t waste a single moment.
