Barbara Joan Morgante Broughton of Lake Helen, FL, age 74, passed away on March 23, 2017 at Fish Memorial Hospital in Orange City, FL, after a brief battle with cancer.
Barbara was born on July 2, 1942 in New Kensington, PA, to Marie (Ostrowski) and Leo Koscianski. She graduated from New Kensington High School in 1960. She met and married Ed Morgante of Lower Burrell, PA in 1961 and finally settled in Florida in 1977.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the beach, reading mystery novels, and dancing to country and western music. Her family and friends will always remember her as the “girl with the beautiful smile.”
Barbara is survived by her three children, Michelle Morgante (Stephen Sanko) of Key West, FL, Edward Morgante of Twinsburg, OH and Teresa (Cameron) Lane of Lake Helen, FL; her two sisters, Therese Gatto of New Kensington, PA, Susan (Robert) Beals of Montague, CA, her first husband, Edward Morgante Sr. of Fort Pierce, FL, and her three grandchildren, Micheal Logan Freese, Melissa Gortarez and Emma Geyer.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Elizabeth Jean, father and mother, Leo and Marie Koscianski of New Kensington, PA, and her second husband Steve Broughton of Sarasota, FL.
